HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-26-2011 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA October 26, 2011 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:41 a.m. and on the call of the roll those members present were Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan and Councilperson Barbara Wilson. Also present were: Vehicle Maintenance Director Bubby Vissing, Street Commissioner David Hosea, Animal Shelter Director Harry Wilder, Building Commissioner Russ Segraves, Officer Don Grimes. Safety Director Michael Ogg, Police Chief Tim Deeringer, Communications Director Larry Thomas, Planning & Zoning Director Brian Fogle. Fire Chief David Kaskie, Assistant Fire Chief Mike McCutcheon, Financial Advisor Monica Harmon, Assistant City Engineer Bill Dixon, City Attorney Darren Wilder, and Clerk & Treasurer's Office Representative Amanda Oelze. Councilperson Barbara Wilson made the motion to approve minutes from October 19, 2011, Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan seconded and passing unanimously. Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan made the motion to approve payroll, Councilperson Barbara Wilson seconded, and passing on a vote of 3 -0. OLD BUSINESS NONE NEW BUSINESS Coyotes Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan brought before the board a complaint about Coyotes being in backyards and fronts yards throughout Jeffersonville. Officer Don Grimes will contact the conservation officer. Blackstone Media Communications Director Larry Thomas brought before the board a contract with Blackstone Media for the new city website. The contract is not exceed $30,900. Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan made the motion to allow the Mayor to sign the contract and Councilperson Barbara Wilson seconded, passing unanimously. Street Closure John Rodriquez came before the board to request a street closure on Chipewa going South and Kewana going North on October 31 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Safety Director Michael Ogg is to drop off 10 vests. Councilperson Barbara Wilson made the motion to approve and Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan seconded, passing unanimously. Ramp Closure Bill Dixon brought before the board a request to for a ramp closure on 10 st and Spring from Sunday October 30 to Thursday Novemerb 4 from 9 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan made the motion to approve, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and passing unanimously.
