An informal discussion was held beginning at 6:14 PM in the Mayor's Conference Room,City Hall, Jeffersonville, Indiana. Authority Board members present: Wayne Carter, Barbara Wilson and Nathan Samuel. City officials present: Mayor Galligan, Attorney Mickey Weber, Len Ashack, Wastewater Dept., William C. Vissing, Vehicle Maint. Dept, and Ilona McBride, Parks Office Manager. Others present: Josh Hillman, Jacobi, Toombs and Lanz, Matt Gullo and Jamie Lake, Kovert Hawkins Architects, and Chris Gilbert and Jason Baird, Security Pros LL.C. All stood for Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and a moment of silence in remembrance of September 11". Member Carter stated that the Ohio River Greenway has requested the city's participation in an agreement regarding their policy for monuments and memorials along the riverfront. It is felt that if the city agrees with the Greenway that the city would be giving up control of what can and cannot be placed along the riverfront. The city is therefore not interested at this time. The neighborhood around Inman Park has submitted a wish list for items they would like to see in Inman Park. These items include: An open sided small shelter, an electrical outlet in said shelter or in the park, more swings to accommodate older children, a dinosaur, turtle or other animal for children to climb and play on, larger all in one play set and more picnic tables. Vissing Park equipment is too big to be moved to Inman Park. Member Carter introduced Matt Gullo, Jamie Lake and Josh Hillman who gave an update on the progress at Vissing Park. The update included an animated presentation on the final design of the park. Mr. Lake stated Vissing Park is really two large parks, Park North and Park South, with two site superintendents dedicated to the park. Mr. Gullo stated that the neighborhood association is thrilled with the plans. Member Samuel asked how much of' the work on the park can be done in- house. Mr. Lake stated that is to be determined as we go along, working with the city to see what sources are available and what needs to be bid out. Member Samuel stated that he hopes that the Park Authority will support getting this park built properly. Mr. Lake stated there will be all new buildings. The steel structure from the current shelter will be reused. He further stated that before winter all site work should be done. He would like to have grass on the baseball fields before freezing weather. It is hoped that games will be played there next spring and summer. Member Samuel asked if the Communications Director had shot any video at Vissing and, if so, if it could be put on the Jeff website. Cost projections for the park are $2 million if all work is bid out. Mr. Lake stated the cost will be well under that figure since the city is providing some of the work. Ile feels that $1.2 to $1.4 is a very realistic cost figure. Mr. Lake stated that Vissing Park will be a wonderful beautiful park when completed. Kovert Hawkins and Jacobi Toombs & Lanz will attend the monthly Park Authority Board Meetings providing update and pictures of the work in progress. Chris Gilbert with Security Pros presented for consideration a Security Solution Design, Support and On -going Services Agreement. Mr. Gilbert stated there are 94 cameras installed to date in various parks and Riverstage. This agreement supports the already installed equipment and also covers future facilities and projects to assure that all present and future purchases are compatible. Member Samuel stated that the agreement referred to an addendum but the addendum was not included with his packet. Mr. Gilbert will get the addendum to Christy Roberts in the Clerk's Office to be forwarded to hoard members. A security master plan needs to be developed. Mr. Vissing, Vehicle Maint., and Mr. Ashack, Wastewater Dept., both stated they had experienced no problems working with Security Pros. J Adjournment: 7:11 PM. Wayne Carte/
