HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-07-2011 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA September 7, 2011 Mayor Caftan called the meeting to order at 9:41 a.m. and on the call of the roll those members present were Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan and Councilperson Barbara Wilson. Also present were: Parks Director Bob Manor, Street Commissioner David Hosea, Animal Shelter Director Harry Wilder, Building Commissioner Russ Segraves. Officer Don Grimes, Police Chief Tim Deeringer, Communications Director Larry Thomas, Planning & Zoning Director Brian Fogle, WWTP Director Len Ashack, City Engineer Andy Crouch, Human Resources Director Kim Calabro. IT Director Roger Hardy, Assistant City Engineer Bill Dixon, City Attorney Darren Wilder. and Clerk & Treasurer's Office Representative Amanda Oelze. Councilperson Barbara Wilson made the motion to approve minutes from September 1, 2011, Engineering Coordinator Rick seconded and passing unanimously. Councilperson Barbara Wilson made the motion to approve payroll, Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan seconded. and passing on a vote of 3 -0. OLD BUSINESS NONE NEW BUSINESS Vendor Permit Request Michael Luckett of Luckett Productions, INC came before the board to see if he needed a permit to shine a search Tight After discussion he was told no permit was needed. Road Closure W WTP Director Len Ashack came before the board to request a road closure at Watt and Thomas Bryant from September 12 —19. He also requested another road closure on Pennsylvania Ave. just going south from September 19 — 30. Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan made the motion to approve both road closures and Councilperson Barbara Wilson seconded, passing unanimously. Trick or Treat Communications Director Larry Thomas came before the board to request that Trick Or Treat be on Monday, October 31. 2011 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan made the motion to approve and Councilperson Barbara Wilson seconded, passing unanimously. Memorial and Ribbon Cutting Fire Deputy Chief Joe Lee came before the board to invite everyone to the memorial dedication on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at 5 p.m. There will be a ribbon cutting for the statue located at the Fire Department Headquarters located on 10"' St, Engineering Coordinator Rick Lovan made the motion to adjourn at 9:51 A.M. and Councilperson Barba ; y'son sewn , ta � ng unanimously.
