The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville met in Special Session on Monday, August
15, 2011. Council President Mike Smith called the meeting to order at 5:41 P.M., and on call of
the roll those members present were: Councilpersons Mike Smith, Connie Sellers, Keith Fetz,
Barbara Wilson, Wayne Carter, and Nathan Samuel. Also present were Attorney Mickey Weber,
and Deputy Clerk Treasurer 'tiffany Stiles.
Possible Grants for Sewer Connections
Jill Seagesser and Melissa Woods with River Hills Economic Development District came before
the council at the request of Councilperson Samuel. Samuel had been looking into the City trying
to acquire Community Dual Block Grants (CDBG) to help the residents of the newly annexed
areas connect to the city sewers. Ms. Seagesser explained the application process for the grants .
Council President Smith asked Ms. Seagesser to contact the Sewer Board members to keep them
involved in the discussion. Councilperson Samuel asked Ms. Seagesser to contact Brian Phelps
with TIICDA to ask for some more information on doing multiple phase projects under the same
grant. Ms. Seagesser will look into getting more information for the Council and will contact
Councilperson Samuel with an update.
Councilperson Sellers made the motion to adjourn at 6:15 P.M.
