OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
AUGUST 31, 2011
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
were: Engineering Coordinator Levan and Councilperson Wilson.
Also present were: Police Chief Deciinger, City Attorney Wilder, Communications Director Thomas,
Fire Chief Kaskie, Parks Director Manor, Vehicle Maintenance Director Vissing, WWTP Director
Ashack, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, City Engineer Crouch, Assistant Fire Chief McCutcheon,
Street Commissioner Hosea, Administrative Assistant Conen, IT Director Hardy, Major Grimes,
Engineering Assistant Dixon, and Second Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve the minutes of 8 -17 -11 and 8- 24 -11, as presented,
seconded by Engineering Coordinator Lovan and carried unanimously.
• Engineering Coordinator Lovan made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by
Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
REQUF,ST FOR STREET CLOSURE
Jessica Kellem appeared before the Board to request a street closure on Ridge Top Circle in
Rolling Ridge Subdivision on September 10, 2011 for a block party. Engineering
Coordinator Lovan made the motion to approve the street closure on September 10, 2011
from 3 -9 pm, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
SPEED SWELL REQUEST
Elizabeth Ferrell requested two speed swells on Sharon Drive. She said motorists don't heed
the stop signs and she is afraid for the safety of kids waiting at the bus stop each morning.
She submitted a petition signed by other residents on Sharon Drive. Councilperson Wilson
made the motion to approve the two speed swells, seconded by Engineering Coordinator and
carried unanimously.

• REQUEST FOR DUMPSTER
Engineering Coordinator Lovan said he received a request for a dumpster at Scott Road and
Hamburg Pike for one week. Mayor Galligan said a 30 yard dumpster would be provided.
BANNER REQUEST - FITNESS FESTIVAL
Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve the request by Event Coordinator Schutz
for a banner over Court Avenue advertising the Jeffersonville Fitness Festival through
September 10, 2011 and a banner for River Breeze, seconded by Engineering Coordinator
Lovan and carried unanimously.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Councilperson Wilson made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:45 am., seconded by Engineering Coordinator Lovan and
carried : i'mously.
