OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
August 10, 2011
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:40 a.m. and on the call of the roll
those members present were Officer Don Grimes and Councilperson Barbara Wilson.
Also present were: Parks Director Bob Manor, Street Commissioner David Hosea, Animal Shelter
Director Harry Wilder, Building Commissioner Russ Segraves. Safety Director Dominick
Mongerella. Police Chief Tim Deeringer, Planning & Zoning Director Brian Fogle, WWTP Director
Len Ashack, Assistant Fire Chief Mike McCutcheon, City Engineer Andy Crouch. Assistant City
Engineer Bill Dixon, Human Resources Director Kim Calabro, Financial Advisor Monica Harmon,
City Attorney Darren Wilder, and Clerk & Treasurer's Office Representative Amanda Oelze.
Councilperson Barbara Wilson made the motion to approve minutes from August 3, 2011, Officer
Don Grimes seconded and passing unanimously.
Councilperson Barbara Wilson made the motion to approve payroll, Officer Don Grimes
seconded, and passing on a vote of 3 -0.
OLD BUSINESS
8"' St Road Closure
City Engineer brought before the board the permanent road closure of 8`" street from Michigan to
Ohio. The board had taken it under advisement at the previously meeting. After further discussion
Officer Don Grimes made the motion to approve the closure of 8 street from Michigan to Ohio,
seconded by Councilperson Barbara Wilson seconded, passing unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
Blocked Parking Spaces
Becky Hutchens came before the board to request 4 to 5 parking spaces directly in front of
Schimpffs be blocked off from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M. on August 17, 2011. Officer Don Grimes made
the motion to approve and Councilperson Barbara Wilson seconded, passing unanimously.
Bridge Closure
Michael York came before the board to request a bridge closure for two hours on September 25,
2011 for the Louisville Aids Walk. Officer Don Grimes made the motion to approve and
Councilperson Barbara Wilson seconded. passing unanimously.
Road Closure
City Engineer Andy Crouch came before the board to request a road closure at 8'" St and Spring
St. There will be a detour route. Officer Don Grimes made the motion to approve pending the
dates for one week and Councilperson Barbara Wilson seconded, passing unanimously.
Councilperson Barbara Wilson made the motion to adjourn at 9:48 A.M. and Officer Don Grimes
