The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville met in Special Session on Monday,
June 20, 2011. Council President Mike Smith called the meeting to order at 5:41 P.M.,
and on call of the roll those members present were: Councilpersons Mike Smith, Connie
Sellers, Barbara Wilson, Wayne Carter, and Nathan Samuel. Also present were Attorney
Mickey Weber, and Deputy Clerk Treasurer Barbara Hollis.
Ordinance No. 2011 -OR -23
Council President Smith introduced Ordinance No. 2011- OR -23, An Ordinance
Reaffirming The Authority Of The City Of Jeffersonville Police And Fire Merit
Commissions, City Council Attorney Weber informed the Council all attomeys involved
have agreed upon this. A three -week written notice has to be given to the F.O.P. and the
Firefighters. Notice is to be given this week, and it will be scheduled for a vote the
second meeting in July. This action clears up the title as an Ordinance rather than a
Resolution and contains no substantive changes. Attomey Weber will review this again
and let everyone know of any changes.
Councilperson Sellers made the motion to adjourn at 5:50 P.M.
