HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-16-2011 MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA March 16, 2011 Engineering Coordinator Lovan sat in for Mayor Galligan and called the meeting to order at 9:35 a.m. and on the call of the roll those members present were Office Don Grimes sitting in for Engineering Coordinator Lovan and Councilperson Barbara Wilson Also present were: Parks Director Bob Manor, Vehicle Maintenance Director Bubby Vissing, Street Commissioner David Hosea, Animal Shelter Director Harry Wilder, Building Commissioner Russ Segraves, Police Chief Tim Deeringer, Communications Director Larry Thomas, Planning & Zoning Director Brian Fogle, Fire Chief David Kaskie, WWTP Director Len Ashack, Sewer Office Manager Bruce Wright, City Engineer Andy Crouch, Assistant City Engineer Bill Dixon, Human Resources Director Kim Calabro, Financial Advisor Monica Harmon, City Attorney Darren Wilder, and Clerk & Treasurer's Office Representative Amanda Oelze. Councilperson Barbara Wilson made the motion to approve minutes from March 9, 2011. Office Don Grimes seconded and passing unanimously. Councilperson Barbara Wilson made the motion to approve payroll, Officer Don Grimes seconded, and passing on a vote of 3 -0. OLD BUSINESS None NEW BUSINESS Speed Bump Justin McCormick of 713 Martha Avenue came before the board to request a speed bump by Sacred Heart. The neighbors have all agreed to it and there have been several near misses with kids on bicycles and cars racing through. Once the weather breaks, it will be done. No motion was made because it was passed two meeting before. Request for a Resident Only Sign Charles Knight came before the board to request another Resident Only Sign to put in from 1212 Sunshine Lane in Suburban Acres. He has one and would like another. He was informed that it cost $100 a year and that two is the limit. Councilperson Barbara Wilson made the motion to approve the Resident Only Sign and Officer Don Grimes seconded, passing unanimously.
