A PPR O PR IA T I O N R E P O R T The Appropriation Report was discussed and all line items were within budget except for the cleaning which was due to an approved increase in hours worked earlier this year. Mr. Segraves said he has submitted the 2011 Budget to the Clerk Treasurer's Office. He said the budget reflects a 3% increase. He told the Board that changes could still be made if needed. Mr. Segraves informed the Board of the following balances on the reports given to him from the Clerk-Treasurer's Office. Since the report was run money was transferred into the Capital Reserve Balance. The new balance is $186,834.00. • Operating Balance 101 $248,315.00 • Capital Reserve Balance $ 95,826.00 • Operating Balance 410 $ 6,698.79 OLD BUSINESS: CANOPY/RODFREPAIRS A new bid was presented from Paimer Roofing. This bid came in $3,700.00 higher than the last one. This bid included removing the existing roof and any roof damage. Mayor Galligan requested Mr. Segraves negotiate on the increase. Mr. Sperzel suggested getting a bid from David Hock from New Albany. GENERATOR FENCE The fence has been ordered. AUTOMATIC DOOR PRICE This has been on hold because of other expenses coming up on the roof repair and the fountain. The Mayor asked if any complaints were received. Mr. Segraves reported only one complaint has been received. NEW BUSINESS: FOUNTAIN Mayor Galligan reported the new fountain will require a 12' wide base where the existing fountain has a 6' base. He said the formula for the base is 2 times the height of the fountain. The base will be circular and possibly have landscape around it for safety reasons. Walnut Ridge Nursery will be contacted about which landscaping would work best. Mr. Segraves said there may be an automatic chlorinator. The Mayor said city workers will do a lot of the work. GENERATOR A discussion was held on the fuel for the generator. Mr. Segraves said the fuel is half full at this time. The Mayor said the tank needs to stay full due to condensation creating rust. He also said the winter fuel should be 25% Kerosene. Mr. Fry said there is an additive that could be put in that would be a winter stabilizer. The Mayor said the City is contemplating buying a truck with a tank in case of an emergency. He suggested the generator tank be filled every two months. Makowsky Oil will be supplying the oil for the generator. The Mayor asked if there was any kind of regulator on the fuel system. Mr. Segraves said he was not aware of it, but will check into it. The conversation shifted to the placement of the generator. It is placed right on the concrete which is resulting in some problems with the door because the concrete has a hump in it. Mr. Fry was surprised that the installer of the generator did not say something about this situation. Several different methods were suggested to correct the problem. The Mayor requested that Mr. Segraves contact Nixon Power to see what needs to be done to correct the problem. The next meeting will be held on September 7, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting was adjourned at 9:35 a.m. on a motion by Mr. Sperzel and seconded by Mr. Stayton.
