OF THE CITY OF JEFFE
August 18, 2010
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:35 a.m. and on the call of the roll
those members present were Engineering Coordinator Lovan and Councilperson
Wilson.
Also present were: Parks Director Manor, Vehicle Maintenance Director Vissing,
Street Commissioner Hosea, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Building
Commissioner SeGraves, Officer Grimes, Communications Director Thomas
Emergency Planner Christian, Executive Assistant Young, WWTP Director

Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve minutes from August 11,
2010, seconded by Engineering Coordinator Lovan and passing unanimously.
Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve payroll, seconded by
Engineering Coordinator Lovan, and passing on a vote of 3-0.
OLD BUSINESS
Unsafe Building
Russ Segraves brought before the board the unsafe building owned by Michael
Gregory on 815 Main St. They are asking for an extra 30 days. The building is
being close to being habitual and will be completed within the 30 days.
Engineering Coordinator Lovan made the motion to approve, Councilperson
Wilson seconded, passing unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
Request for Bridge Closure
Brad Hampton came before the board to request a Bridge Closure for the
Louisville AIDS Walk on September 26th from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.
Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve, Engineering Coordinator
Lovan, seconded, passing unanimously.
Request to Hang Sign
David Smith of Providence High School came before the board to request
permission to hang a banner over Court Ave from October 25 -November Stn
pending availability. Engineering Coordinator Lovan made the motion to approve,
Councilperson Wilson seconded, passing on a vote of 3-0.
Bridge Closure
Officer Grimes came before the board to let them know that there will be a bridge
closure on Septemeber 6 from 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.
No Parking on Riverside Dr.
Officer Grimes came before the board to request that Jeffersonville Prohibit
parking on the South Side of Riverside Dr. There will be yellow signs painted to
indicate no parking. Growth Coordinator Lovan made the motion to approve,
Councilperson Wilson seconded, passing unanimously.
Unsafe Buildings
Russ Segraves brought before the board two unsafe buildings at 3402
Charlestown Pike and 3406 Charlestown Pike. Charles Reisert said that it was
his plan to tear down the buildings after his agreement with Chase Murphy had
ceased. Mayor Galligan said that the city would go ahead and tear down the
buildings and Charles Reisert would reimburse the city for the demolishing fees.
They would get bids from contractors. Engineering Coordinator Lovan made the
motion, Councilperson Wilson seconded, passing unanimously.
New Sign
Janice Sinkhorn with the Jeffersonville Merchants came before the board to
request a sign saying Historical Jeff. The prices on the billboard they currently
have, has been increased and they can no longer afford it. She was instructed to
get with Andy Crouch with the details.
Councilperson Wilson made the motion to adjourn at 10:03 A.M. and Engineering
Coordinator seconded, passing unanimously.
