HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-08-2010JEFFERSONVILLE BUILDING AUTHORITY June 8, 2010 The regular meeting of the Jeffersonville Building Aut Jeffersonville City Hallday, June 8, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. m the second floor conference room at the Members present were Building Commissioner Russ Segraves, Don Sperzel, and Keith Stayton. MINUTES Mr. Stayton made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 11, 2010 meeting. The motion was seconded by Mr. Sperzel. OLD BUSINESS: GENERATOR Mr. Segraves said he is in the process of paying the $49,166.50 bill for the generator. The $15,000 for the switch gear has been paid. The $15,000 was paid out of this year's budget. The $49,166.50 will be paid out of the Capital Reserve Contingency Fund. There is a balance of $282,000 available. The transfer switch to the genll tion was scheduled for Wednesday but nd is up and ready waiting for good weather. The costa storms are forecasted in the morning. Cooley Spaulding is scheduled to work later in the evening and Nixon Power is to start work early Thursday morning and will work late because Mr. Segraves did not want to go overnight without a generator. The generator is now at Bowyer's on Dutch Lane. Their cost to unload and set the generator is $1,480.00. A call was made to Padget Crane, but they did not return the call. The Mayor said the $1,480.00 cost was in order. The fueling of the generator was discussed. The tank holds 966 gallons of fuel. The fuel will be purchased from McCowsky Oil. Mr. Stayton asked if a temporary fence was needed to protect the generator until the enclosure is installed. It was reported that the cabinet protects the unit. The old service contract for the old generator will be assumed by the Fire Department and a new one will be needed on the new one. The City will locate the old generator to the Fire Department on Wall Street. FLOOR COVERING Mr. Stayton asked about the Police Department floor covering. Mr. Segraves said he will let them work out the details. Mr. Segraves said the stairway carpet is complete. AUTOMATIC FRONT DOOR Mr. Segraves received an estimated from Wallace Company Glass and Glazing to put automatic doors on the front of the building in the amount of $3,718 for the hardware and associated equipment. Mr. Stayton asked if the automatic door was required. Mr. Segraves said no, but all agreed the door is heavy and difficult to open at times. Mr. Segraves said a wheelchair can go through a 36' door. Mr. Segraves will get a price on one door. CANOPY Mr. Segraves is working on getting bids on fixing the canopy over the front door. The roof has one leak at the present time. Palmer Roofing submitted a bid for $4,200. Mr. Sperzel gave the name of Hock Roofing so that another bid can be submitted. WATER FOUNTAIN Mr. Segraves showed a drawing of the new fountain that was purchased by the Parks Department. This fountain will replace the existing fountain that has a bad pump. The new fountain has been purchased and shipped. There is no base for the fountain at the present time. FLAG POLE LIGHTS The flag pole lights will be available soon.
