MINUTES OF THE BOAR
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
JUNE 30, 2010
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
were: Growth Coordinator Lovan and Councilperson Wilson.
Also present were: Police Chief Deeringer, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Parks Director
Manor, Building Commissioner Segraves, Street Commissioner Hosea, Assistant Police Chief Crrimes,
WWTP Director Ashack, Executive Assistant Young, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, IT Director
Hardy, Code Enforcement Officer Sellers, Sewer Office Manager Wright, City Attorney Wilder,
Planning and Zoning Director Fogle, Assistant Fire Chief Harrod, Director of Economic Development
Hulse, Event Coordinator Schutz, City Engineer Crouch, Communications Director Thomas, and
Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
Growth Coordinator Lovan made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, and
seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
UNSAFE BUILDING/322 THOMPSON LANE
Code Enforcement Officer Sellers brought this item back to the Board as it was tabled last
week. She said the only progress made is weeds cut and tires removed. She said the trailers
and farm equipment are still on the property. Attorney Elston appeared on behalf of Mr.
Parris and asked for an additiona130 days to comply. After some discussion, Growth
Coordinator Lovan made the motion to grant him 30 more days to have the property
completely cleaned up, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.

2105 UTICA PIKE/UNSAFE BUILDING
This item was tabled last week due to Mayor Galligan's absence. Glenn Muncy appeared
before the Board and said his ex-wife has agreed to sell her share of the property to him. He
said he wants to fix up the structure and live there again. Mayor Galligan expressed concern
over whether Mr. Muncy can afford to start and complete both projects he is involved in. Mr.
Muncy asked the Board to postpone any action for another 30 days. After discussion,
Councilperson Wilson made the motion to grant 30 more days to make significant
improvements on each property or the structures at 2105 Utica Pike will be torn down and the
city will make an offer to buy his property downtown, seconded by Growth Coordinator
Lovan and carried unanimously.
JELLY BELLYADVERTISEMENT
Walter Murphy asked permission to park the Jelly Belly truck in front of Schimpff s on July
21, 2010 from 11 am to 5 pm. The Board said this would be no problem.
READY CAB TAXI PERMITS
Julie Hart had some question about the new ordinance. Attorney Wilder said he would talk to
her after the meeting.
CSX STREET CLOSURES
Growth Coordinator Lovan made the motion to approve the list of railroad crossings to be
repaired or redone, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
KIDS TRIATHON
Event Coordinator Schutz asked for street closure at the entrance to the Aquatic Center on
Saturday, July 10, 2010 for the Kids Triathlon. The will go from the Aquatic Center to Perrin
Lane to Perrin Park. It will last approximately 45 minutes. Councilperson Wilson made the
motion to approve the request, seconded by Growth Coordinator Lovan and carried
unanimously.
BID AWARD/PACKER BODY
Growth Coordinator Lovan made the motion to approve the bid of Pyramid Equipment in the
amount of $89,580.00 fora 32 yard Packer, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried
unanimously.

There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Growth Coordinator Lovan
made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:08 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Wilson
and carried unanimously.
