OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE; INDIANA
November 25th, 2009
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members
present were: City Engineer Bob Miller and Councilperson Barbara Wilson.
Also present were: City Attorney Darren Wilder; Asst. Police Chief Mark Pavey; Vehicle
Maintenance Director Mike Drury; Building Commissioner Russ Segraves; Engineer Andy
Crouch; Fire Chief Tony Harrod; Assistant Fire Chief Shawn Grant; Street Commissioner
David Hosea; Parks Director Bob Manor; Communications Director Larry Thomas; Animal
Shelter Director Harry Wilder; City Growth Coordinator Rick Lovan; Sewer Department
Bruce Wright; Safety Director Dominick Mongarella; Utility Directory Len Ashack;
Personal Director Kim Calabro; Redevelopment Director Jim Urban and Administrative
Assistant Laura Boone.
Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve minutes from November 18th, 2009 as
presented, second by Engineer Bob Miller and carried unanimously.
Engineer Bob Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, second by
• Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
PROMOTIONS/FIRE DEPARTMENT
Chief Tony Harrod said with the resignation of two firefighters there are two ranks that have
opened up. He said these are the two ranks that have previously been discussed. He asked
the Board to promote Antonio Veals to the rank of Sergeant and Jimmy Johns be promoted to
the rank of Lieutenant. A motion was made by Engineer Bob Miller second by
Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
RE-NAMING OLD HIGHWAY 131E TO "HOSPITALITY WAY"
Brian Fogle, Assistant Planning and Zoning Director said he received a request from Clark
County 911 to have a street renamed. He showed an aerial view which he identified as Old
31E. They want it re-named to "Hospitality Way". It is a frontage road that runs off Eastern
Blvd. at the interchange of I-65 and Eastern Blvd. There are 4 addresses of businesses that
will be affected by the change; Super 8 Motel, Motel 6, Lee Oil Co. and Louisville & IN RR.
All addresses would switch over using the same street numbers they currently use, with
Hospitality Way becoming the new street name. Susan Robertson, Planning & Zoning
Office, has contacted the four different property owners who will be affected by the change.

They have no objections to the change. He asked for the board's approval and with approval
it would become effective on January 1St, 2010. The reason they are asking for the change is
. 7 or 8 different street names are currently being used for the same frontage road. A motion
was made by Councilperson Wilson second by Engineer Bob Miller and carried
unanimously.
OTHER:
Planning and Zoning Director Jim Urban asked if the light at Blue Teal ever got resolved.
Engineer Miller said he was working on it; they were putting a new one in.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board; Engineer Miller made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:45 a.m., second by Councilperson Wilson and carried
unanimously.
