MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBL O
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
NOVEMBER 10, 2009
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Wilson.
Also present were: Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Parks
Director Manor, Assistant Fire Chief Lee, Safety Director Lovan, WWTP Superintendent Ashack,
Planning and Zoning Director Urban, Assistant Planning and Zoning Director Fogle, Engineer Crouch,
City Attorney Wilder, Police Chief Deeringer, Sewer Inspector Wright, Sewer Manager Mattingly,
Street Commissioner Hosea, IT Director Hardy, Communications Director Thomas, and Deputy Clerk
Mayfield.
Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve the minutes of 11-4-09 as presented, seconded by
Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson
Wilson and carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
THE HARBOURS
Cindy Richards with The Harbours Condominium Association requested additional
handicapped parking on West Market Street. The police department will check the location.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the request pending police and fire approval,
seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
1902 RUCK LANE
City Mortgage Bank Attorney Endris appeared before the Board to report that the bank has
had a property preservation company to winterize the property and maintain it until the
Sheriff sale that has been rescheduled for January 12, 2010. He requested the additional time
for the property to be sold at the Sheriff sale. The Building Commissioner's office will make
sure the property is maintained by the bank until then. Detective Broady said the fire has
been determined to be arson. Attorney Endris will come back to the Board after the Sheriff
sale.
WETLAND MITIGATION
Jorge Lanz of Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz spoke about the Wetlands Mitigation regarding
American Place and Quarry Road. He said property has been found in Clark County. A total
of 31 acres are to be mitigated. He said 9 acres will be mitigated for our road. The total
estimated cost for mitigation is $189,320.00. Mr. Lanz asked the Board to approve a Good
Faith letter and payment to David L. and Kathryn L. Fellows in the amount of $1,509.43.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the mitigation and Good Faith payment in the
amount of $1,509.43, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Engineer Miller made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:53 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried
