HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-02-2009THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES OF OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA DECEMBER 2, 2009 In Mayor Galligan's absence Planning and Zoning Director Urban called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Wilson. Growth Coordinator Lovan sat in as a voting member of the Board. Also present were: Assistant Police Chief Grimes, City Attorney Wilder, Parks Director Manor, Assistant Fire Chief Grant, Sewer Office Manager Mattingly, Building Commissioner Segraves, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Personnel Director Calabro, Engineer Crouch, Growth Coordinator Lovan, Fire Chief Harrod, Communications Director Thomas, Street Commissioner Hosea, Planning and Zoning Director Urban, WWTP Director Ashack, IT Director Hardy, Code Enforcement Officer Frey, .Assistant Fire Chief Lee, Sewer Inspector Wright, Safety Director Mongarella, Executive Assistant Young, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve the minutes of 11-25-09 as presented, and seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, and seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS INTER-LOCAL AGREEMENT Engineer Miller made the motion to approve dissolving the Inter-Local Agreement with Clarksville, and seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. FEE SCHEDULE AND FINES FOR TRASH CONTAINERS Engineer Miller made the motion to approve changing the description of the size of the trash containers, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. • 920 PRATT STREET Larry Kuntz, the owner of 920 Pratt Street appeared before the Board to ask for an extension of time to tear down the structure. He would like until April to do so. Assistant Fire Chief Lee said the structure is a fire hazard and needs to be torn down. He said the structure has been this way for a couple of years. After discussion, Engineer Miller made the motion to give Mr. Kuntz 30 days to tear down the structure with the city supplying the dumpsters and payment deferred until April, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. PERMIT FOR SALES Thane Christianson asked permission to sell goods in the city of Jeffersonville. He said he will try to find private property to sell on. The Board told him to go to Planning and Zoning and the Clerks office for a permit. PERMISSION FOR SALES James Gales asked permission to sell goods in the parking lot behind Life Spring on Court Avenue. The Board told him that is private property so he would need to get permission from them. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve a permit for him to sell in the City of Jeffersonville, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. There bein no further discussion to come before the Board, Councilperson Wilson made the g motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:00 a.m., seconded by Engineer Miller and carried ,~ ATTE T: CLE AS RER •
