Resolution No. 2003-R-03
A Resolution Giving the Executive Director
Authority to Execute Documents
Whereas, the economic development and redevelopment function of the Jeffersonville
Redevelopment Commission, directed and authorized by this Jeffersonville Redevelopment
Commission, require the execution of many documents during normal working hours; and
Whereas, the Commissioners are part-time volunteers, and are all employed full-time
elsewhere, making their attendance at real estate closings and other transactions during normal
working hours difficult; and
Whereas, The Department of Redevelopment employs afull-time Executive Director to manage
its day-to-day affairs; and
Whereas, the Commissioners review and approve all projects undertaken by the Department of
Redevelopment;
Now, therefore, it is hereby resolved that the Department of Redevelopment Executive
Director has authority to sign checks to pay routine bills for operating expenses prior to Board
approval. In particular, The Executive Director may pay anything under $500.00, a budgeted
salary item or a grant without prior approval, with the provision that the grant must be under
$50,000.00 or approved by the Indiana Department of Commerce.
