COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF JEFFERSONVILLE~ INDIANA
DECEMBER 30, 1995
The Common Council of the City of jeffersonville met in
regular session in the Multi-Purpose Meeting Room in the City-County
Building, jeffersonville, Indiana, at 9:30 A.M. on the 30th day of
December 1995.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Raymond Jo Parker
Jr., with Deputy Clerk Barbara Hollls at the desk. Mayor Parker
welcomed all in attendance~ asking all those present to stand as
Councllperson Steven Stemler gave the invocation. He then asked all
those present to join him in the pledge of allegiance to the flag.
The roll was called and those present were Councllpersons
Bill Wolpert, Andrew Williams III, Donna M~ Frantz, Peggy Knight
Wilder, Barbara Wllson~ and Steven R. Stemler.
Absent: Robert L. Potter.
Council President Wilder presented Ordinance No. 95-OR-50,
An Ordinance Fixing BasiC Salaries Of Elected Officials Of The City Of
jeffersonville~ Indiana For the Year 1996, for the third and final
reading. Council President Wilder explained the Ordinance reflects a
$1,000 increase for the Mayor and Clerk Treasurer, a S3~005 increase
for the City Court Judge and no increase for the Council. Mr. Charles
Kenneth White asked if the City Judge receives the same conpensation
as the County Judges. Council president Wilder stated he does not as
he is considered part-time so receives 40%. There being no further
discussion, Council President Wilder made the motion to pass Ordinance
No. 95-OR-50 on 'the third and final reading, seconded by
Councilperson Wilson passing on the following roll call vote:

Councilperson Stemler hopes the secretary positions
established by this Council will be utilized by the new Council.
Councllperson Wilson stated she will miss Councilpersons
Wolpert, Potter, and Stemler, hoping someone will take over doing the
invocation. She wishes all the best and a happy new year.
Councllperson Wolpert feels the new Council will get along
without the ones leaving and he wishes good luck to the new "crew".
He has enjoyed most of his term on the Council. Councilperson Wolpert

Mayor Parker says good luck and happy new year. He wishes
Mayor Galligan the best and offers his help. He wishes the Council a
properous four years. Mayor Parker says happy new year and thank you.
Mr. Charles Kenneth White says good luck and happy new year.
There being no further business to come before the Council,
Councilperson Wolpert moved to adjourn at 9:46 o'clock A.M, seconded
by Councilperson Stemler and unanimously carried.
