City Hall Council Conference Room
The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville met in Special Session on Monday,
November 16, 2009. Council President Connie Sellers called the meeting to order at 7:02
P.M., and on call of the roll those members present were: Councilpersons Ed Zastawny,
Keith Fetz, Connie Sellers, Barbara Wilson, Ron Grooms, and Nathan Samuel. Absent
was Councilperson Mike Smith. Also present were Mayor Tom Galligan, Council
Attorney Greg Clark, Financial Advisor Bill Mattingly, and Chief Deputy Clerk
Treasurer Suzy Bass.
Sewer Rates and Sewer Capacity Fees
Attorney Clark discussed Ordinance 2009-OR-43 which was passed on the first reading
at the previous meeting. There will be some amendments to this ordinance for the
Council to consider. Mr. Clark discussed the phasing in of the Sewer capacity fees.
Request for Turnout Gear
Assistant Chief Shawn Grant appeared before the Council to request money to pay for six
sets of turnout gear. There is enough money budgeted for next year to pay for all but six
sets. Councilperson Samuel said that the Fire Department has $5,100.00 in a line in the
Annexation Budget so they would only need $5,400.00. The motion was made by
Councilperson Samuel to approve paying $5,400.00 from the EDIT Misc. Capital line for
the remainder of the cost, second by Councilperson Zastawny passing 6-0.
The meeting adjourned at 7:26 P.M.
