City Hall Council Conference Room
The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville met in Special Session on Monday,
September 14, 2009. Council President Connie Sellers called the meeting to order at 7:10
P.M., and on call of the roll those members present were: Councilpersons Mike Smith,
Ed Zastawny, Keith Fetz, Connie Sellers, Barbara Wilson, Ron Grooms, and Nathan
Samuel. Also present was Deputy Clerk Treasurer Barbara Hollis.
Fire Department Physical Examinations
Fire Department Assistant Chief Tony Decker presented and explained the NFPA
Physical Examination Guidelines. The best price quote for administration of the
physicals is from Occupational Medicine. Assistant Decker has talked with the Union
and they are willing to go with the NFPA recommendations. A contract is required. The
funding was discussed. Councilperson Zastawny noted the need to get physicals for the
Police as well. At the conclusion of all discussion, Councilperson Samuel made the
motion to provide $27,212 for Fire physicals from the Gaming Revenue Fund, second by
Councilperson Smith, passing on a vote of 7-0.
Councilperson Grooms made the motion to adjourn at 7:25 P.M.
