FIRE DEPARTMENT MERIT BOARD

The Jeffersonville Fire Department Merit Board met Thursday, August 13, 2009 in the
City Council Conference Room, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN. The
following were present:
David Martin -President
Jeff Frey -Board Member
Lyn Ackermon -Board Member
Mary Sue Ellenbrand -Stenographer
ABSENT:
Lee Taylor- Board Member
CALL TO ORDER:
Mr. Martin called the meeting to order at 6:06 PM.
MINUTES:
Mr. Martin asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes of the July
23, 2009 meeting. Mr. Frey made a motion to approve the minutes of the July 23, 2009
meeting. Mr. Glass seconded. Motion approved unanimously.
IPSP:
Mr. Frey passed out copies of the IPSP proposal for testing and consultation services.
The proposal consisted of Exhibits A through E. Mr. Savitsky will be present at the
meeting next week to discuss the proposal and explain the procedure to the fire
department. A decision on the contract will be made at a later meeting.
APPLICATION:
Applications for the fire department will be advertised one a year but the applications will
be available all year. The list of applicants will be valid for two years. Testing will take
place every two years.
AGENDA:
Mr. Martin made an agenda for the meeting next week. Each speaker will be allotted 20
minutes.
ADJOURNMENT:
Mr. Martin asked if there was any additional business. Hearing none Mr. Frey made a
motion to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 PM. The next
meeting with be August 20, 2009 at 6:00 PM in the Council Conference Room on the
first floor of the City Building.
