HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-01-2009E • F THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY MINUTES O OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA JULY 1, 2009 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Wilson. Also present were: Police Chief Deeringer, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, City Attorney Wilder, Parks Director Manor, IT Director Hardy, Safety Director Lovan, Sewer Office Manager Mattingly, Code Enforcement Officer Frey, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Personnel Director Calabro, City Engineer Crouch, Street Commissioner Hosea, Redevelopment Director Robinson, Communications Director Thomas, WWTP Director Ashack, Sewer Inspector Wright, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve the minutes of 6-24-09 as presented, and • seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, and seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS AGREEMENT WITH JACOBI TOOMBS AND LANZ Jorge Lanz distributed information on the Right of Way services agreement that is being approved by INDOT. Also distributed was a summary of how the fees are broken up for management of pricing. The government appraisers being used are Ed Haire and Jim Biggs. He said the Board of Public Works approved draft agreement has been submitted to INDOT and INDOT has approved the fees so we can submit the signed copies for the agreement. Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve the agreement on the Hamburg Pike Project not to exceed $419,770.00 for the Right of Way services, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. CHANGE ORDER #2 ALLISON LANE SIDEWALK PROJECT Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve Change Order #2 for a credit of $485.00, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. • TENTH STREET RECONSTRUCTION CONTRACT • Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the contract with Bernard and Lochmueller not to exceed $899,800.00 for the Tenth Street Reconstruction, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. GRAPPLE TRUCK BIDS Bids were received from: Kentucky Truck Sales, Inc. $99,700.00 Uhl Truck Sales $105,554.95 Engineer Miller made the motion to take the bids under advisement for one week, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. PERRIN LANE Councilperson Wilson said she has received phone calls in regard to the need for athree-way stop sign on Perrin Lane. After some discussion it was decided to have the police department check the location and report back to the Board. There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. • MAYOR A ST: .~~ E - EASURER •
