OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
FEBRUARY 25, 2009
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Wilson.
Also present were: Police Chief Deeringer, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, City Attorney
Wilder, Parks Director Manor, Assistant Fire Chief Grant, IT Director Hardy, Safety Director Lovan,
Sewer Office Manager Mattingly, Building Commissioner Segraves, Planning and Zoning Director
Urban, Fire Chief Harrod, Code Enforcement Officer Frey, Code Enforcement Officer Sellers, Street
Commissioner Hosea, Redevelopment Director Robinson, Executive Assistant Young, Communications
Director Thomas, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve the minutes of 2-18-09 as presented, and
• seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, and seconded by
Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
FUNDRAISER FOR POLICE
Councilperson Fetz said his son's AAU Basketball team wants to hold a fundraiser called the
"Knock-Out Challenge" at the Fieldhouse on Sunday, March 8, 2009 to benefit the injured
police officers. The event will begin at 5 pm. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve
the fundraiser, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
TRASH ON TENTH ST. AND HERB LEWIS ROAD
Bobby Miller appeared before the Board in regard to trash and other objects that have been
dumped on Tenth Street and Herb Lewis Road. Mayor Galligan said it would be cleaned up
and asked the police department to check the location from time to time.

• UNSAFE BUILDING AT 2021 HAMBURG PIKE
Kathy Hamblen who is the owner of the property at 2021 Hamburg Pike has been cited for an
unsafe building. After some discussion, Engineer Miller made the motion to approve giving
her 15 days to demolish the property and remove her personal belongings or the city will
demolish it, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. City Attorney
Wilder is to notify her about removing her personal property.
HOWARD STEAMBOAT CHATAQUA 2009
Yvonne Knight appeared before the Board in regard to the annual Chautauqua to be held May
16, and 17, 2009. The theme this year is "A Million Lincolns". She asked for security help
as in the past and if yard signs could be put up. The board told her signs would need to be
placed on private property.
QUARRY ROAD PROJECT/WETLANDS
Jorge Lanz presented to the Board for approval a Scope of Services for Mitigation Plan
Development and Agency Coordination America Place/Quarry Road Project with Stantec
Consulting Services not to exceed $41,195.00. Mayor Galligan said the money will come
from Major Moves. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the proposal with the
money coming from Major Moves, seconded by Councilperson Wilson who asked that this
go before the City Council for approval and carried unanimously.

There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Engineer Miller made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried
unanimously.
