OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
FEBRUARY 4, 2009
In Mayor Galligan's absence Planning and Zoning Director Urban called the meeting to order at 9:30
a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Wilson.
Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury sat in as a voting member of the Board.
Also present were: Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Building Commissioner Segraves, Animal
Shelter Director Wilder, Assistant Fire Chief Grant, Parks Director Manor, Asst. Police Chief Pavey,
Sewer Office Manager Mattingly, Redevelopment Director Robinson, City Engineer Crouch, Personnel
Director Calabro, Code Enforcement Officer Sellers, IT Director Hardy, Executive Assistant Young,
City Attorney Wilder, Growth Coordinator Lovan, Street Commissioner Hosea, Communications
Director Thomas, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried
unanimously.
Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve the minutes of 1-21-09 as presented, seconded by
Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
TREE REMOVAL AT 410 E. MAPLE STREET
This item is to be put on next weeks agenda.
NEW BUSINESS
HANDICAPPED PARKING SIGN REQUEST AT COUNTY BUILDING
Sheriff Rodden appeared before the Board and requested two handicapped parking signs on
Watt Street for the County Building. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the two
handicapped parking spaces, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE
Susan Benner asked the Board to approve a Blood Drive on September 3 and September 18,
2009 by the City Building from 8 am to 3 pm. Redevelopment Director Robinson said he
would obtain permission from Sun Properties to use the lot. Engineer Miller made the
motion to approve the Blood Drive at the City Building on September 3 and 18, 2009,
seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
HANDICAPPED PARKING AT 1105 BLUEGRASS TRAIL
No one appeared on this issue so Director Urban asked the Police Department to go out and
check the location.
RAILROAD CROSSING/LAUREL SPRINGS
Paul Primavera appeared for Builder Bob Lynn in regard to finding an alternate exit from the
proposed Laurel Springs subdivision off of Highway 62. There is only one entrance/exit at
this time. CSX Railroad .said if the city gives up three crossings they can have a new one.
After some discussion, Engineer Miller made the motion to deny closing three crossings,
seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
RESIDENT ONLY PARKING SIGN
Kathy Gentry of 917 French Street said she has a resident only parking sign but people
attending church are parking in her spot and she asked what can be done about it. Engineer
Miller said the resident only spaces are 20 feet wide. Street Commissioner Hosea said the
lines are wrong and the sign is in the wrong place. He is going to go out and look at the
space again. Ms. Gentry was told she could buy another resident only sign which would help
her problem. Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve a second resident only
parking sign for Kathy Gentry pending space availability, seconded by Engineer Miller and
carried unanimously.
HARBOURS CONDOS/GATE PROBLEM
Cindy Richards appeared regarding the access gate that can't be opened fully because of cars
parked against it too close. She asked if the Harbours could have two parking spaces under
the Kennedy Bridge to alleviate the problem. She said the Harbours would take care of the
signage if need be. After discussion, Engineer Miller made the motion to approve marking
two parking spaces "no parking", and seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried
unanimously.
UNSAFE BUILDING/111 MAPLEHURST DRIVE
Code Enforcement Officer Sellers asked that this item be tabled until next week.

UPDATE ON ALLISON LANE SIDEWALK
Josh Hillman of Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz said the contractor plans to begin work on the
Allison Lane sidewalks in the middle of March pending weather conditions.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Engineer Miller made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:15 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried
unanimously. }
