HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-26-2008t~_ RKS AND SAFETY MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WO OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA NOVEMBER 26, 2008 Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:40 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Wilson. Also present were: Chief of Staff Young, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Building Commissioner Segraves, Attorney Darren Wilder, Parks Director Manor, Receptionist Timberlake, Fire Chief Harrod, Purchase Order Clerk Smith, Code Enforcement Officer Frey, Asst. Fire Chief Grant, Safety Director Lovan, Personnel Director Calabro, Police Chief Deeringer, Sewer Office Manager Mattingly, Redevelopment Director Robinson, Assistant Planning Director Crouch, Planning and Zoning Director Urban, Street Commissioner Hosea, and Communications Director Thomas. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. OLD BUSINESS ALLISON LANE SIDEWALKS Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the bid of Clark Nickles to do the Allison Lane Sidewalks for the sum of $145,188.00 and seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. 2009 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the 2009 Holiday Schedule as presented, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS HEALTH INSURANCE AND EMPLOYEE BENEFITS Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the 2009 Health Insurance and Employee Benefits for 2009 with Humana, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. .. HANDICAPPED PARKING SIGN June Florence requested a handicapped parking sign at 713 E. 9t" Street. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the sign pending police approval, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. COMMUNITY FOCUS FUND GRANT Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the Community Focus Grant, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. UNFIT BUILDING Building Commissioner Segraves told the Board of an unfit building at 1039 Nachand Lane. It is owned by Ms. Immy Moberly. He said the owner has started the eviction process and he will be contacting the tenant to inform them of the safety issues. Engineer Miller made the motion to table until next week, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
