HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-19-2008• MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA NOVEMBER 19, 2008 In Mayor Galligan's absence Planning and Zoning Director Urban called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Wilson. Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury sat in as a voting member of the Board. Also present were: Police Chief Deeringer, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Attorney Darren Wilder, Parks Director Manor, Fire Chief Harrod, IT Director Hardy, Safety Director Lovan, Redevelopment Director Robinson, Sewer Office Manager Mattingly, Chief of Staff Young, Purchase Order Clerk Smith, Building Commissioner Segraves, Assistant Planning Director Crouch, Planning and Zoning Director Urban, Street Commissioner Hosea, Communications Director Thomas, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve the minutes of 11-5-08 and 11-12-08 as presented, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. OLD BUSINESS ALLISON LANE SIDEWALK BIDS Josh Hillman of Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz opened bids on the Allison Lane Sidewalk project. There were nine bidders. The engineer's estimate was $175,000.00 and the lowest bid was $145,188.00. Engineer Miller made the motion to take the bids under advisement for one week, and seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS CHARLESTOWN PIKE SIDEWALKS Engineer Miller made the motion to approve a contract with Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz to complete the design only on the Charlestown Pike Sidewalks and to complete the plan and profile drawing for the curbs and gutters on Kewanna Drive on an hourly basis, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. 2009 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE Engineer Miller made the motion to table the 2009 Holiday schedule for further discussion by the Mayor, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. • There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:00a.m., seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously. ~., AYOR ATTEST: ,- RK ~~ ASURER `~~~"'~ ~~ • •
