OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
NOVEMBER 12, 2008
In Mayor Galligan's absence Planning and Zoning Director Urban called the meeting to order at 9:30
a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Grooms
sitting in for Councilperson Wilson.
Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury sat in as a voting member of the Board.
Also present were: Asst. Police Chief Pavey, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Attorney Darren
Wilder, Parks Director Manor, Assistant Fire Chief Grant, IT Director Hardy, Safety Director Lovan, ,
Sewer Office Manager Mattingly, Chief of Staff Young, Personnel Director Calabro, Planning and
Zoning Director Urban, Police Chief Deeringer, Building Commissioner Segraves, Street Commissioner
Hosea, Communications Director Thomas, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
OLD BUSINESS
ROLLING RIDGE STREET LIGHTS
Resident Michael Henderson asked whose responsibility it is to install street lights in Rolling
Ridge Subdivision. He said Section One is complete but Section 2 is incomplete. Engineer
Miller said Section Two should be done by the developer. Miller said he left Mr. Klein a
message telling him his responsible for the street lights but received no call back response.
Planning and Zoning Urban said Phase One was already under way when a new ordinance
was put in place regarding street lights in subdivisions. Councilperson Grooms made a
motion to obtain quotes for street lights in Phase One and bring back to the Board, seconded
by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
Councilperson Grooms made the motion to approve sending a letter to the developer to
inform him of his responsibility to install street lights in Phase Two, seconded by Engineer
Miller and carried unanimously.
EASTSIDE CHRISTIAN CHURCH SIDEWALKS
Engineer Miller made the motion to waive Eastside Christian Church installing sidewalks
until the year 2012 or until Veteran's Parkway is completed, and seconded by Councilperson
Grooms and carried unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS
STOP SIGN ON SUNDANCER
Karen Haag appeared before the Board in regard to the need for a three way stop due to
higher traffic volume on Sundancer where it meets Idledice. Street Commissioner Hosea will
check the location. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve pending police approval and
street department approval, seconded by Councilperson Grooms and carried unanimously.

PROMOTION POLICE DEPARTMENT
Councilperson Grooms made the motion to approve promoting Jason VanGilder to Corporal,
seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
ALLISON LANE SIDEWALKS
Councilperson Grooms made the motion to approve tabling this until November 19, 2008,
seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Engineer Miller made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:15 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Grooms and carried
