City Hall Mayor's Conference Room
The Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville meC in Special Session on Monday, October 24,
2008. Council President Ed Zas[awny called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M., and on call of the roll
those members present were: Councilpersons Ed Zastawny, Ron Grooms, Bazbaza Wilson, Keith Fe[z,
Mike Smith, and Nathan Samuel Councilperson Connie Sellers was absent. Also present were Mayor
Tom Galligan and Deputy Clerk Treasurer Tiffany Timberlake.
Councilperson Fetz made the motion to approve the agenda as presented second by Councilperson
Samuel, passing on a vote of 6-0.
Fire Department Equipment Request
The Fire Department came before the Council to request permission to purchase equipment for
Annexation azeas A, C, D, and F. Councilperson Samuel made the motion to approve the purchase of
the brash truck and pagers using monies from the Annexation Non-Reverting Fund, seconded by
Councilperson Grooms. Passed 6-0.
The Fire Department has been inspecting the Fire Hydrants in the annexed azeas and has found
hydrants that need to be repaired. They estimate that there is a need for 50-70 new hydrants. Mayor
Galligan would like to obtain bids for the new hydrants.
Budget
Councilperson Grooms would like for the Finance Committee to meet and find another $200,000 [o cut
from the budget and then the Finance Committee will bring [heir recommendations before the Council.
Councilperson Grooms said that the City may be eligible for reimbursements from FEMA for overtime
costs and debris removal.
Councilperson Samuel made the motion to adjourn at 7:30 P.M., second by Councilperson Fetz
passing on a vote of 6-0. /~
