OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
AUGUST 27, 2008
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Wilson.
Also present were: Chief of Staff Young, Purchase Order Clerk Smith, Vehicle Maintenance Director
Drury, Building Commissioner Segmves, Attorney Wilder, Personnel Director Calabro, IT Director
Hazdy, Pazks Director Manor, Receptionist Timberlake, Communications Director Thomas, Planning
and Zoning Director Urban, Asst. Fire Chief Grant, Police Chief Deeringey Fire Chief Harrod, Animal
Shelter Director Wilder, Sewer Office Manager Mattingly, Growth Coordinator Lovan, and Deputy
Clerk Mayfield.
Councilperson Wilson made the motion to approve the minutes of Augus[ 2Q, 2008 as presented and
seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson
Wilson and carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
STREET LIGHT AT ROLLING RIDGE AND VI55ING PARKWAY
Councilperson Wilson inquired about the stains of the previous request for a street light at Rolling Ridge
and Vissing Pazkway. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the light at a cost of $1,500.00,
seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
ROLLING RIDGE STOP SIGN
Councilperson Wilson said a stop sign was taken down in Rolling Ridge and needs to be put back up by
the Contractor.
BLUE TEAL FENCE
Councilperson Wilson inquired about [he status of the fence to be erected. Mayor Galligan said Street
Commissioner Hosea is getting another quote.
NEW BUSINESS
PERMISSION TO BLOCK ALLEY
Dana Payton asked permission t block the alley by theNachand Fieldhouse on Sunday, Augus[ 31, 2008
from 12-7 pm for a birthday party. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the alley being blocked
off, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
CHILDREN AT PLAY SIGN
Councilperson Wilson said there is a sign needed at Fields Drive. Mayor Galligan said a sign would be
put up.
ROAD CLOSURE FOR FIRE DEPT. AGILITY TEST
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve closing Court Avenue from Penn Street to Locust Street on
September 20, 2008 for the Fire Departrnent Agility Test, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and
carried unanimously.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Engineer Miller made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:45 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried
unanimously.
