A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE
OHIO RIVER GREEN-WAY COMMISSION MASTER PLAN
WHEREAS, the Ohio River Greenway Commission was created by State Statute submitted at the
request of the cities of Jeffersonville and New Albany, Indiana and the Town of Clarksville, Indiana;
and
WHEREAS, the Ohio River Greenway project is one which has received the continuing support
of the city of Jeffersonville; and
WHEREAS, the Ohio River Greenway Commission has been formed and has adopted a master
plan allowing individually funded projects to proceed in each of the communities involved; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana feel that the
Greenway concept outlined in the master plan adopted by the Greenway Commission is in the best
interest of the City of Jeffersonville.
WHEREAS, implementation of the Greenway project provides a tremendous opportunity to
connect the communities of Jeffersonville, Clarksville and New Albany with the river and correlate the
resources within those communities.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSONVILLE that the Common Council approves of the concepts and objectives outlined in the
master plan adopted by the Ohio River Greenway Commission, which is attached hereto, and pledges
the continuing support of the City of Jeffersonville to the development of the Ohio River Greenway in
the future.
ALL OF WHICH IS RESOLVED on this 6th day of February, 1995.
