HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-02-2008MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA JANUARY 2, 2008 Mayor Galligan called the meeting Co order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Sellers. Also present were: Fire Chief Harrod, Miles, Chief of Staff Young, Deputy Fire Chief Lee, Deputy Fire Chief Grant, Assistant Fire Chief Decker, Councilperson Smith, Redevelopment Director Robinson, John Perkins, EMC Plant Manager Meyer, Deputy Clerk Bass, Purchase Order Clerk Smith, Asst. Police Chief Morian, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Building Commissioner Segraves, Street Commissioner Hosea, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Attomey Wilder, Councilperson Wilson, Planning and Zoning Director Urban, Personnel Director Calabrq [T Director Hardy, Assistant Police Chief Pavey, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. FIRE DEPARTMENT CLAIMS Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the fire department claims in the amount of $6,574.00, seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously. PUBLIC NOTICE APPROVAL Engineer Miller made the motion to set the Board of Public Works meetings for every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Sellers and carried unanimously. DANE SWANK Ms. Swank said7risurMax will be setting up meetings with department heads to put a process in place for notification of loss or damages with the Property Casualty Insurance. She said the other item is a ¢equest for letter of appointment for agent of record for benefits. Attorney Darren Wilder said it has come to his attention that there is a potential for litigation regarding the insurance agent of record authorization. He recommended this issue be tabled until the next meeting so he can look into it. -LEE STREET • Ms. Hams of 1612 Lee Street came before the Board again regarding the dangerous curve on her street. Engineer Miller suggested double striping the street and installing a speed limit sign. The police will monitor the situation as well for speeders. There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Engineer Miller made the motion [o adjourn the meeting at 10:00 a.m, seconded by Councilpersou Sellers and carried unanimously. • A ST: CLERI EASURER
