MEETING MINUTES
May 13, 2008
Call to order
A regular meeting of the Jeffersonville Building Authority was held May 13, 2008 at
9:00 a.m. m the second floor conference room at The Jeffersonville City Hall.
Roll call
Members present were President Russ Segraves, Keith Slayton, Gary Johnson and John
Perkins.
Staff present: Mary Hunter
Others present: Rick Meynard
Approval of Minutes
Gary Johnson made a motion to approve the minutes of the April 8, 2008 meeting,
seconded by John Perkins and carried unanimously.
Approval of the Appropriation Report
Gary Johnson made a motion to approve the appropriation report, seconded by John
Perkins and carried unanimously.
Old Business
HVAC Controls- by ETC Services has been installed. A demonstration of the softwaze
was given by Roger Hardy. The system is very impressive and once a final tune-up is
complete, ECT wilt put a back up system in place.
Roof Damage-Palmer Roofing repaired the windows adjacerd, to the stair tower and
canopy at no additional chazge. The canopy has stopped leaking since the repairs were
made.
Canopy Rebuild- We never received a bid from AML. Adam's Construction returned a
bid to us in the amount of $36,898.SS.Gary Johnson made a motion to table the bid,
seconded by John Perkins and carried unanimously.
Walnut Ridge was asked to give us a landscaping quote and we expect to receive it in the
near future. New landscaping will most likely start N the fall.
New Business
Rosa Mosaic will be submitting a bid for drilling the holes in the Lion's mouth of the
water fountain.
There was an odor on the third floor. Russ did not have a company come out and smoke
this area since the odor disappeared soon after it started.
There is a need for additional outside ashtrays. John Perkins made a motion to purchase
the ashtrays, seconded by Keith Stayton and Gary Johnson voted nay, and motion passed.
Shardein Mechanical expressed interest in purchasing some of our obsolete control
equipment. Gary Johnson made a motion to approve the sale of equipment, seconded by
John Perkins and carried unanimously.
City hall stairway and guardrails are too short and need handrail extensions due to safety
issues. It was also recommended that we install a library table on the thud floor. John
Perkins will talk to Peggy Wilder about the table and get back to us at the nest meeting.
Also, approval was given to install a handrail extension at the first floor level.
The next meeting date is scheduled for Tuesday, June 10, 2008.
Adjournment
With no further discussion, Gary Johnson made a motion to adjourn at
10: OS a.m. seconded by Keith Stayton and carried unanimously.
