OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
MAY 7, 2008
Mayor Galligan called the mee5ng to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Wilson.
Also present were: Chief of Staff Young, EMC Plant Manager Meyer, Purchase Order Clerk Smith,
Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Building Commissioner Segraves, Street Commissioner Hosea,
Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Attorney Wildey Personnel Director Calabro, IT Director Hardy, Parks
Director Manor, Receptionist Timberlake, Sewer Office Manager Mattingly, Police Chief Deednger,
Asst. Fire Chief Grant, Safety Director Lovan, Planning and Zoning Director Urban, Redevelopment
Director Robinson, and Asst. Police Chief Grimes.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by Councilperson
Wilson and carried unanimonsly.
• OLD BUSINESS
Moratorium on Directional Boring
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve a moratorium on directional boring in the city but
excluding Duke Energy so as to allow them ro directional bore in order to provide service to customers,
seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
BIDS FOR SWEEPER, GARBAGE CAB AND CHASSIS PACKER
Bids were received from Municipal Equipment, Peterbilt of Louisville, Best Equipment, and
Kentuckiana Trucking. Engineer Miller made the motion to take the bids under advisement, seconded
by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
2ND ANNUAL CHANDLER-FLORENCE WALK
Robbie Valentine asked the Board to approve the 2"s annual Chandler Florence Walk on May 17, 2008.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the Chandler Florence Walk on May 17, 2008, seconded by
. Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
• REQUEST FOR SIGNAGE
Ivan Dinger requested handicapped pedestrian signage for 8ih Street and Roma Avenue. Mayor Galligan
said he was looking into putting a three way stop there. The police department will check the location.
GRATITUDE TO FIRE DEPARTMENT
Anna Goodwin thanked the Fire Departrnent for their help with the roadblock. She said it was a success
and raised $1,500.00.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Engineer Miller made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:10 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried
unanimoi y.
