MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
APRIL 2, 2008
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Wilson.
Also present were: Chief of Staff Young, Deputy Fire Chief Lee, EMC Plant Manager Meyer, Purchase
Order Clerk Smith, Asst. Police Chief Pavey, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Building
Commissioner Segraves, Street Commissioner Hosea, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Attorney Wilder,
Personnel Director Calabro, IT Director Hardy, Parks Director Manor, Communications Director
Thomas, Planning and Zoning Director Urban, Asst. Fire Chief Decker, Redevelopment Director
Robinson, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
ADOPT A CORNER
Realtor Pat Harrison appeared before the Board to promote the kick off of "Adopt a Comer"
in conjunction with Earth Day. She said interested citizens can adopt a comer for one year to
maintain once a week. Mayor Galligan told her to contact the Beautification Committee on
this.
NO PARKING SIGN REQUEST
Asst. Fire Chief Decker requested "no parking" on Brighton Avenue on both sides from his
residence to Market Street due to Jeff Boat employees parking there. Engineer Miller made
the motion to approve the request, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried
unanimously.
RESIDENT ONLY PARKING SIGN REQUEST
Trevor Lewis, a resident of Howard Avenue asked the Board to approve a resident only
parking sign for his handicapped father. Mayor Galligan said the police department will
check the location and report back to the Board.

KELLY'S FILMWORKS
A representative for Kelly's Filmworks L TD appeared before the Board to request the use of
Warder Park to film a scene of the family motion picture "Clancy" on Saturday, April 5, 2008
from approximately 9 am to 2 pm. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the use of
Warder Park to Kelly's Filmworks LTD on Saturday, April 5, 2008 from 9 am to 5 pm,
seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
1212 SPORTSMAN DRIVE
Engineer Miller said a resident at 1212 Sportsman Drive has a steel plate at the end of his
driveway that needs to be removed. Mayor Galligan said Bob Goldman would need to go out
and look at it and give him a price.

Asst. Police Chief Pavey said there is a problem on Highway 62 due to the current
construction going on at Jeff High School. One of the entrances has been eliminated so
students are going to Thompson Lane and making a u-turn. He requested "no u-turn" signs
be erected. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the "no u-turn" signs, seconded by
Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
STREET LIGHT OUT
Councilperson Wilson said a street light is out in front of321 Market Street. Engineer Miller
said he will take care of it.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Engineer Miller made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:00 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried
unanimousl
