MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
MARCH 12, 2008
Mayor Galligan called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present
were: Engineer Miller and Councilperson Wilson.
Also present were: Fire Chief Harrod, Chief of Staff Young, Deputy Fire Chief Lee, EMC Plant
Manager Meyer, Purchase Order Clerk Smith, Asst. Police Chief Pavey, Vehicle Maintenance Director
Drury, Redevelopment Director Robinson, Street Commissioner Hosea, Animal Shelter Director Wilder,
Attorney Wilder, Personnel Director Calabro, IT Director Hardy, Parks Director Manor, Receptionist
Timberlake, Communications Director Thomas, Planning and Zoning Director Urban, Police Chief
Deeringer, Officer Ueding, and Redevelopment Director Robinson,
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by CouncHperson
Wilson and carried unanimously.
CONTROL BOARD
Rick Meynard representing the Building Authority presented to the Board a bid from ECT
Services, Inc. in the amount of $8,450.00 for a Control Board. Engineer Miller made the
motion to approve the bid from ECT Services, Inc. in the amount of $8,450.00, seconded by
Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
BITUMINOUS BIDS
Bituminous bids were opened from Asphalt Supply, Sellersburg Stone, Hanson Aggregate,
Gohmann Asphalt, and Mac Construction. Engineer Miller made the motion to take the bids
under advisement, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
ROAD BLOCK REQUEST
Anna Goodman asked the Board to approve a road block at the intersection of Charlestown
New Albany Pike and Holman's Lane on AprilS, 2008 from 8:00am to 2:00 pm. To raise
money for Relay for Life. The board rejected this request due to an ordinance against
roadblocks.

YVONNE KNIGHT WITH HOWARD STEAMBOAT MUSEUM
Yvonne Knight asked the Board to make High Street a one-way street due to Jeff Boat
parking and a blind comer. Mayor Galligan said he would contact Bryan Jackson with Jeff
Boat. The Board will need a letter from Jeff Boat and Howard Steamboat Museum on this
request. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve making High Street one-way pending
receipt of the letters, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
THUNDER CLOSINGS
Police Officer Chris Ueding said the usual streets will be closed for Thunder over Louisville.
He said people needing handicapped parking permits will need to contact the police
department for them due to limited spaces. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the
street closures, seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried unanimously.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Engineer Miller made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:54 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Wilson and carried
unanimously.
