AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 2007-OR-001
AND AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 97-OR-73
AND REPEALING ORDINANCE 97-OR-74
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, has previously adopted
the above ordinances establishing the Jeffersonville Drainage Board, and as a result of
necessity the Jeffersonville City Council is desirous of amending Ordinance 20007-OR-001 was
an ordinance amending Ordinance 97-OR-0073 as follows:
NOW LET IT BE ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL THAT:
SECTION 1: Section (2) or ORDINANCE 97-OR-73 is was amended on January 22,
2005 to set forth as follows:
"The Jeffersonville Drainage Board shall 6e composed of the City
Engineer, the City Planner, and seven members appointed by the
Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville".
SECTION 2: Section (3) of ORDINANCE 97-OR-73 was amended on January 22, 2005
to read as follows:
"Each member of the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville
shall appoint one member to the Drainage Board. These
appointments are each for one (1) year and serve at the pleasure of
the Appointing Councilperson. Appointments to the Drainage Board
must be a resident of the City of Jeffersonville.
SECTION 3: Section (4) of ORDINANCE 97-OR-73 was amended on January 22, 2005
to read as follows:
"The terms of the seven (7J Common Council appointments shall
expire on the second Monday of January following their
appointment."
SECTION 4: Section (5) of ORDINANCE 97-OR-73 is shall be deleted.
SECTION 5: ORDINANCE 97-OR-74 was repealed.
SECTION 6: Section (3) of ORDINANCE 97-OR-73 shall hereby be amended to set forth

that the following appointments shall occur:
1. The Council Members for Districts One, Three and Five shall appoint one (1)
member to the Jeffersonville Drainage Board. The initial appointment shall
take place on April 1, 2008 and the initial appointee shall serve until January
1, 2009. At the expiration of the January 1, 2009 term the Council Members
for District One, Three and Five shall appoint one (1) member for the term of
two (2) years. Their appointments shall continue to be for two (2) year terms
thereafter.
2. The Council Members for Districts Two and Four and the Two (2) Council
Members At-Large shall appoint one (1) member each and said members
shall serve for two (2) years with their first term beginning April 1, 2008 and
ending January 1, 2010 and for two (2) year terms thereafter.
3. All Board members serve at the will of the Council members that appointed
said member.
SECTION 7: Section (2) or ORDINANCE 97-OR-73 shall be amended to set forth that:
"The Jeffersonville Drainage Board shall be composed of the seven
(7J members appointed by the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville" pursuant to this ordinance as adopted.
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by the Common
Council of the City of Jeffersonville and approval by the Mayor of the City of
Jeffersonville.

by the Mayor.
