LUTION TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT

FOR WATER MAIN I::x
WHEREAS, effective December 23, 1995 the City of jeffersonville, indiana
(.hereinafter "the City") annexed all of the homes along Hoskins Lane; and
WHEREAS, those residents did not previously have available to them water
service through indiana-American Water Company, Inc. (hereinafter "the Utility"); and
WHEREAS, the Utility has agreed to provide the necessary main extension to
bring water service to the intersection of Hoskins Large and 10th Street; and
WHEREAS, there are ten homes along Hoskins Lane; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost per home of the Utility's extension of the water
service from 10th Street to each home is one thousand four-hundred twenty dollars
($1420.00); and
WHEREAS, that cost per home discourages the residents from accepting water
service from the Utility; and
WHEREAS, the newly-annexed residents of all ten (10) homes along Hoskins
Lane have agreed to pay seven hundred ten dollars ($710.00) toward the cost of
extending the Utility's water service to the homes; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Inc. (hereinafter
"the Council") believes that it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City that the
residents along Hoskins Lane be provided with water service;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City shall enter into
the attached Agreement for Water Main Extension with Indiana-American Water
Company, Inc.; and
IT IS HEREBY FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council shall pay from its budget
for water service the amount of seven thousand one hundred dollars ($7,100.00) to
defray the cost of providing water service to the newly annexed residents along Hoskins
Lane.
