HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-12-2007;~ i MINUTES OF THE BOARD ~F PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JE~'FERSONVILLE, INDIANA DECEMBER 12, 2007 Engineer Miller called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on -call of the roll those members present were: Councilperson Perkins and Animal Shelter Director Wilder. Also present were: Fire Chief Miles, Councilperson Wilson, Police Major Morlan, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Building Commissioner Segraves, City Attorney ', Merkley, Street Commissioner Ellis, Redevelopment Director Cahill, IT Director Hardy, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Animal Shelter Director Wilder and carried unanimously. r~ ~`~~ I OLD BUSINESS STREET DEDICATION Engineer Miller made the motion to approve dedicating Golf Hill Drive, seconded by Director Wilder and carried unanimously. ELKE POINTE Engineer Miller said he checked out the location for the three way sign at Elke Pointe on !Charlestown Pike. He said if the tree is in the way of visibility of the sign that the tree needs to come down. NEW BUSINESS FIRE STATION UPDATE Heather Graninger gave an update on progress at the Fire Stations and City Services Complex. She said the cost for blinds in the break room is $455.98. She will do a Change Order on this. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the blinds, seconded by Director Wilder and carried unanimously. Councilperson Perkins said that an annexation hearing is to beheld on February 13, 2008 so there is a good chance that Engine 4 will not be open and staffed for a while. It could possibly be delayed until mid 2009 depending on the outcome of the annexation lawsuit. '#. RENAMING HWY.62 TO E. TENTH STREET Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the request to use E. Tenth Street as one standardized street name for the following street names inside the city limits of Jeffersonville, seconded by Director Wilder and carried unanimously. They are: State Road 62, Highway 62, Hwy 62, E. State Road 62, 10th Street, Tenth Street, and E. 10th Street.
