A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE FINANCING
OF TWO (2) FIRE TRUCKS
WHEREAS, many of the Jeffersonville Fire Department's fire trucks are reaching the
point of obsolescence, and
WHEREAS, the Jeffersonville Fire Department (hereinafter "the Department") has
requested funds to purchase two new fire trucks (pumpers), and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville (hereinafter "the Council")
agrees that it is imperative for the safety of the City's residents that the Department
purchases two new pumpers, and
WHEREAS, the Department has received bids for' two new pumpers totaling
$485,800.00 and will need an additional $40,000.00 to equip said pumpers for a total of
$525,800.00, and
WHEREAS, the Council agrees that there are, and will be adequate monies in various
funds, including but not limited to the Cumulative Improvement Fund (i.e., the 4-4-4
Fund), to retire the debt to be incurred in the purchase and equipping of two new
pumpers,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Council will fund the
purchase and equipping of two new pumpers for the Department in the 1997 Budget
and in each subsequent Budget necessary to retire the debt incurred in said purchase.
