OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
OCTOBER 3, 2007
Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were:
Councilperson Perkins and City Engineer Miller.
Also present were: IT Director Hardy, Asst. Police Chief Lovan, Fire Chief Miles, Animal Shelter
Director Wilder, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Building Commissioner Segraves, City Attorney
Merkley, Street Commissioner Ellis, EMC Plant Manager Meyer, Personnel Director Calabro, Planning
and Zoning Director Hicks, Redevelopment Director Cahill, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Councilperson Perkins
and carried unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of 9-19-07 and 9-26-07 as
presented, seconded by Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously.
FIRE STATION UPDATE
Heather Graninger gave an update on progress at the Fire Stations and City Services
Complex. She also presented for review pricing for additional work to be done in the amount
of $28,184.99. Councilperson Perkins asked that another price be obtained for drywall.
SUPPORTING HEROES ROADBLOCK
Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve a roadblock and walk to beheld on
Saturday, October 13, 2007 with proceeds going to support the families of fallen police and
firefighters, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN BRIDEGVIEW CENTER AND CITY OF JEFF
City Attorney Merkley said the Lease reflects the settlement agreement between Bridgeview
Center and the City of Jeffersonville. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the
lease agreement, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
RENAMING OF STREET
Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve Executive Order No. 2007-EO-005 to
rename Third Street to Trey Street in River Ridge Commerce Center, seconded by Engineer
Miller and carried unanimously.
ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER SALARY
Councilperson Perkins stated that the Animal Control Officer salary has been put back into
the Animal Shelter budget.
HEALTH INSURANCE BOARD REQUEST
Councilperson Perkins said the Health Insurance Board is requesting information from Larry
Lynn on Health Insurance for review as the ,deadline approaches. Renewal is in January.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Councilperson Perkins made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 a.m., seconded by Engineer Miller and carried
unanimously.
