RESOLUTION NO. 2007 R ~ Y
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE
INDIANA IN SUPPORT LOCAL RADIO BROADCASTING
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana, IS the
legislative and fiscal body for the City of Jeffersonville, Indian and;
WHEREAS, Radio Station W A VG/AM-1450 has provided radio broadcasting to
Jeffersonville and Southern Indiana for over 40 years and;
WHEREAS, WAVG/AM-1450 is moving to new offices outside of Jeffersonville and
may no longer provide local news and sports coverage and:
WHEREAS, without W A VG/AM-1450 has provided coverage of Jeffersonville High
School Sporting events and provided local news and coverage of special Jeffersonville
events for many years and;
WHEREAS, without W A VGI AM-1450, Jeffersonville will probably not have coverage
of local sports and local news as in the past with our locally owned radio station;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville, be in support of W A VG/AM-1450, and request that the station return to
radio broadcast coverage of Jeffersonville High School sporting events and local news as
soon as possible
