HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-22-20074 '. ` ~ MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA AUGUST 22, 2007 Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 n.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: 'City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Perkins, Also present were: Fire Chief Miles, Assistant Police Chief Lovan, IT Director Hardy, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Vehicle Maintenance Director prury, Building Commissioner Segraves; City Attorney i Merkley, Personnel Director Calabro, Councilperson. Wilson, Planning and Zoning Director Hicks, Redevelopment Director Cahill, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. `'• ~ I FIRE STATION UPDATE '; Heather Graninger gave an update on progress being. made on the new Fire Stations and City Services Complex. She is looking into the purchase of the generators and the cost to install them. APPROVAL OF CONTRACT FOR UPDATED ZONING ORDINANCE Planning and Zoning Director Hicks presented an agreement between the City of ;Jeffersonville and Ground Rules, Inc. for Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Control Ordinance Update Services. It is not to exceed $40,000.00. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the contract, seconded by Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously. HANDICAP SIGN AT EIGHTH AND SHORT, JACKSON STREETS '! Engineer Miller made the motion to install a handicap sign, seconded by Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously. ,~ Engineer Miller clarified for police and fire dept. information that the Port will close Middle Road on Monday morning (Aug. 27) through Thursday evening (Aug.30) to repair rails. ~e r, i ~'' ~ HANDICAP SIDEWALK Councilperson Perkins said he received a call that there is no handicap cut in the sidewalk behind the Post Office. He also inquired about what is going to be done with the field full of junk parts belonging to the street department and police department when the new city services complex is done. Assistant Police Chief Lovan said their parts will be stored in a warehouse. There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:20 a.m.,'seconded by Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously. ~I - A TTL C T. ~' ~;
