HomeMy WebLinkAbout08-08-2007r ,3 ~ i ~' MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA AUGUST 8, 2007 Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Perkins. 'Also present were: Fire Chief Miles, IT Director Hardy, Parks Director Poff, Animal Shelter Director 'Wilder, Building Commissioner Segraves, City Attorney Merkley, Personnel Director Calabro, Street '..Commissioner Ellis, Councilperson Wilson, Planning and Zoning Director Hicks, Assistant Police Chief Lovan, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. ':.Council Perkins made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Engineer Miller and ,carried unanimously. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the minutes of 7-31-07 and 8-1-07 as 'presented, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. !.FIRE STATION UPDATE j Heather Graninger gave an update on progress at the fire stations. She said copper is being 'stolen from the jobsites. The police department said they are running extra patrols at the 'sites. She said she has gotten a price on standard urinals instead of waterless urinals at a price ', of $1,535.50. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the standard urinals, 'seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. PAYMENT VOUCHER ON FIRE STATION AND CITY SERVICES COMPLEX Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the payment voucher in the amount of $801,000.00, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. LOUISVILLE AIDS WALK Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve closing the 2"d Street Bridge for the ~,, i Louisville Aids Walk on Sunday, September 30,, 2007, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. ~"~` ` I ~ i GREENWAY SK RUN Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve street closures for the Greenway SK Run on October 13, 2007, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. DEMOLITION CONTRACT FOR 1117 SPORTSMAN DRIVE Building Commissioner Segraves recommends approving Charlie's Wrecking to demolish the structure at 1117 Sportsman Drive for $6',000.00, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. CROSSWALK STRIPES Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve painting crosswalk stripes on French Street and Howard Avenue leading into Bob Hedge Park, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. After some discussion; the motion was withdrawn to check into further. There being no further discussion to come before the Board, .Engineer Miller made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:20 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously.
