MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
JUNE 13, 2007
Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were:
City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Perkins.
Also present were: Fire Chief Miles, Councilperson Wilson, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Personnel
Director Calabro, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Building Commissioner Segraves, City
Attorney Merkley, Street Commissioner Ellis, Redevelopment Director Cahill, IT Director Hardy,
Assistant Police Chief Lovan, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Councilperson Perkins
and carried unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the minutes of May 30, 2007 and June 6, 2007,
seconded by Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously.
FIRE STATIONS UPDATE
Heather Graninger with Kovert Hawkins Architects gave the Board an update on progress
being made. Street Commissioner Ellis inquired about the salt barn. Heather said it will hold
2100 tons.
CHANGE ORDER #6
Change Order #6 was submitted for approval on the Fire Stations. After discussion,
Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve Items 1, 2, and 3, seconded by
Engineer Miller. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to table Item #4, seconded by
Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
SOLICITOR PERMIT
Brock Stoddard of Pinnacle Home Security came before the Board for a solicitor permit to
sell Home Security Systems door to door. After discussion, Councilperson Perkins made the
motion to approve the solicitor permit, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried
unanimously. A 6 month permit was purchased for $75.00.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Councilperson Perkins made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:00 a.m., seconded by Engineer Miller and carried
unanimously.
