HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-30-2007MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MAY 30, 2007 City Engineer Miller called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: Street Commissioner Ellis and Councilperson Perkins. Also present were: Fire Chief Miles, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Parks Manager Langdon, Planning and Zoning Director Hicks, Street Department Director Ellis, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Building Commissioner Segraves, IT Director Hardy, Councilperson Wilson, Officer Grimes, Asst. Parks Director Couts, Redevelopment Director Cahill, City Attorney Merkley and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Street Commissioner Ellis and carried unanimously. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the minutes of May 23, 2007, seconded by Street Commissioner Ellis and carried unanimously. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the claims with the addition of three claims payable to Kovert Hawkins Architects, seconded by Street Commissioner Ellis and carried unanimously. AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION HEART WALK Mike Tanoury appeared before the Board for street closure permission to have the annual American Heart Association Heart Walk on Saturday, August 25, 2007 from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the street closures, seconded by Street Commissioner Ellis and carried unanimously. PARKING FOR WALL STREET CAFE Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve on-street customer parking at the Wall Street Cafe, seconded by Street Commissioner Ellis and carried unanimously. Signs will be erected. NO OUTLET SIGN Councilperson Wilson said "no outlet" signs are needed on Thompson Lane. Street Commissioner Ellis made the motion to approve the signs, seconded by Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously. WOODLAND CT. CLOSURE Herb Fletcher, an employee of Clark Nichols appeared before the Board to get permission to close Woodland Court for one week (June 5 to June 11) in order to perform work. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the closure, seconded by Street Commissioner Ellis and carried unanimously. Engineer Miller told Mr. Fletcher to put up proper signage and to advertise in the newspaper.
