OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
MAY 16, 2007
Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were:
City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Perkins.
Also present were: Fire Chief Miles, Asst. Police Chief Lovan, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Vehicle
Maintenance Director Drury, Building Commissioner Segraves, City Attorney Merkley, Street
Commissioner Ellis, Human Resources Director Calabro, Councilperson Wilson, Planning and Zoning
Director Hicks, Redevelopment Director Cahill, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by
Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
FIRE STATION UPDATE-
Heather Graninger of Kovert Hawkins Architects gave an update on Fire Stations 2 and 4.
She said masons are working on the walls, electrical and plumbing work is being done, and
footings poured at Station 2. Plumbing piping is being done at Station 4 and the tilt wall
panels are being poured at the City Services Complex.
CHANGE ORDER #5 FIRE STATIONS-
Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve Change Order #5 for the Fire Stations in
the amount of $21,060.13, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
CLAIMS FOR FIRE STATIONS AND CITY SERVICES COMPLEX-
City Attorney Merkley presented claims for payment to AML in the amount of $261,272.70.
Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the payment of the claims, seconded by
City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.

STREET PAVE REQUEST-
Barbara Hollis aske
d the Board to look into paving the street in Carriage House Court.
Councilperson Perkins said the bond has expired. Mayor Waiz asked Ms. Hollis to get an
estimate on the paving budget for him.
Ms. Hollis inquired about the emptying of the recycling bins. Mayor Waiz told her to call the
Parks Department.
5K WALK/RUN-
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the SK Walk/Run on Saturday, August 18, 2007
as requested by Robin Frazier with the Visually Impaired Pre-School Services, seconded by
Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously.
CELEBRATING FREEDOM PARADE-
Charles Coleman asked the Board to approve the Celebrating Freedom Parade on July 4,
2007. The parade will run from 7th Street to Warder Park. Engineer Miller made the motion
to approve the parade, seconded by Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously.
SOLICITOR PERMIT-
John Drury with Apex Alarm asked the Board to approve his company going door to door
promoting and selling alarm systems between the hours of 2 pm to 8 pm. Councilperson
Perkins made the motion to approve the permit contingent upon knocking on no doors after
8pm, seconded by City Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
JEFF FEST-
Councilperson Wilson informed everyone of Jeff Fest on June 9, 2007 from 11 am. To 6 pm.
She asked the Fire Dept. to bring their trucks and asked the police department to do the
fingerprinting again this year. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve Jeff Fest
on June 9, 2007, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
ACCEPTANCE OF CITY STREET-
Redevelopment Director Cahill asked the Board to approve Innovation Court as a city street.
Mayor Waiz asked Director Cahill to double check the name of the street before doing so.
There being no further discussion to come before the Board, City Engineer Miller made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:30 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Perkins and carried
unanimously.
