HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-9-2007MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA MAY 9, 2007 Engineer Miller called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call. of the roll those members present were: Street Commissioner Ellis and Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury. Also present were: Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Building Commissioner Segraves, City Attorney Merkley, IT Director Hardy, Street Commissioner Ellis, Redevelopment Director Cahill, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. Street Commissioner Ellis made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury and carried unanimously. Old business: 3417 Holman's Lane Building Commissioner Segraves said this building has been demolished. Street Commissioner Ellis made the motion to approve dismissing this item, seconded by Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury and carried unanimously. 237 Graham Street Building Commissioner Segraves said the owner is now in compliance. Street Commissioner Ellis made the motion to approve dismissing this item, seconded by Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury and carried unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: VENDOR PERMIT Street Commissioner Ellis made the motion to approve a permit for David Peterson to sell ice cream in the city, seconded by Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury and carried unanimously. PAYMENT ON KEN ELLIS CENTER Street Commissioner Ellis made the motion to approve a payment to the Estopinal Group in the amount of $1,164.41, seconded by Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury and carried unanimously. AMERICA PLACE Lynn Longmeyer introduced her replacement Dan Huff to the Board. 3-WAY STOP LIGHT Street Commissioner Ellis made the motion to approve a three way stop light at Darien and Downey Drive in Mallard Run, seconded by Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury and carried unanimously. HIGH PRESSURE GAS LINE Street Commissioner Ellis made the motion to approve closing Magnolia Street for two days to move a gas line to solid ground, seconded by Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury and carried unanimously. CHARLENE WHITE City Attorney Merkley said he spoke to Charlene White about an ordinance violation. Street Commissioner Ellis made the motion to defer action for thirty days, seconded by Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury and carried unanimously. JEFF GRC PARADE Street Commissioner Ellis made the motion to approve a rain date for the parade, seconded by Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury and carried unanimously. There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Street Commissioner Ellis made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:20 a.m., seconded by Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury and carried unanimously.
