MINUTES OF THE BOARD O!F PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
MARCH 21, 2007
Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were:
City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Perkins.
Also present were: Fire Chief Miles, Asst. Police Chief Lovan, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Vehicle
Maintenance Director Drury, Building Commissioner Segraves, City Attorney Merkley, Parks Director
Poff, Youth Commission Director Knight, Councilperson Wilson, Planning and Zoning Director Hicks,
Redevelopment Director Cahill, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield.
Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the minutes of 3-14-07 as presented,
seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll as presented, seconded by
Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
FIRE STATION 2 AND 4 UPDATE-
Heather Graninger of Kovert Hawkins Architects gave an update on Fire Stations 2 and 4.
She said site work is still proceeding on Fire Station 2 and will begin pouring footings soon.
She said Engineer Miller is working with Jorge Lanz on sewer lines for Station 4. City
Attorney Merkley has contacted the Insurance Company to acquire a separate bond from
owner to do work out at the highway. Councilperson Perkins asked if work will start on
Station 4 before the sewer line easements are taken care of. She said site prep work will be
done.
VENDOR PERMIT-
Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve a vendor permit for Tommy Hannah of
841 E. Washington Street, Louisville, Ky. on the day of Thunder over Louisville at the
Riverstage, seconded by Engineer Miller and. carried unanimously.
CHANGE ORDER #5 KEN ELLIS-
Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve Change Order #5 for the Ken Ellis
Center, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
LANDSBERG COVE-
Councilperson Wilson said speed limit signs are needed in Lansberg Cove. Street
Commissioner Ellis will take care of putting up 25 mph signs. Wilson said she has talked to
Engineer Miller about the drainage problems there as well.
CLAIMS FOR FIRE STATIONS 2 AND 4 AND CITY SERVICES COMPLEX-
City Attorney Merkley presented claims for payment to Kovert Hawkins for services and for
legal ads. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the claims for payment, seconded by
Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously.
EIGHTH AND OHIO AVENUE-
Councilperson Perkins spoke of the situation at 8th and Ohio Avenue. He said he talked to
one of the engineers on the CSO's and possible alternatives.
INDOT-
Engineer Miller said he needs INDOT papers .signed for Park and Ride to send back to
Indianapolis. After some discussion, Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve
signing the contract for Park and Ride, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried
unanimously.

There being no further discussion to come before the Board, City Engineer Miller made the
motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:30 a.m., seconded by Councilperson Perkins and carried
unanimously.
