HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/17/2007l I MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA JANUARY 17, 2007 Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. and on call of the roll those members present were: City Engineer Miller and Councilperson Perkins. Also present were: Fire Chief Miles, Animal Shelter Director Wilder, Sewer Office Manager Johnson, Planning and Zoning Director Hicks, Councilperson Wilson, Parks Director Poff, Personnel Director Calabro, Vehicle Maintenance Director Drury, Building Commissioner Segraves, City Attorney Merkley, Street Commissioner Ellis, Redevelopment Director Cahill, IT Director Hardy, Assistant Police Chief Lovan, and Deputy Clerk Mayfield. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve the payroll, seconded by Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously. } '~ KEN ELLIS CENTER- Melissa Woods asked the Board to approve Payment #5 to Kevco Construction for the Ken Ellis Center in the amount of $199,343.00. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve payment to KevCo Construction in the amount of $199,343.00, seconded by Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously. Engineer Miller made the motion to approve a Disclosure Report being sent to Rural Affairs by Melissa Woods, seconded by Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously. POLICE DEPARTMENT NEW HIRE- Assistant Police Chief Lovan asked the Board to' approve the hiring of Steven Dean Jr. to replace Danny Rodden. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve the hiring of Steven Dean Jr., seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. STOP LIGHT- Pat Lowery had contacted Mayor Waiz in regard to a problem with a stop light at Holman's ~^ ,, Lane and Charlestown Pike. Engineer Miller said he would check out the problem. ~ i AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY AND WALNUT RIDGE CEMETARY- ~. ~ _ 'i Jim Sillman of Jacobi, Toombs, and Lanz asked the Board to approve an agreement between the City and Walnut Ridge Cemetery for road construction. Councilperson Perkins made the motion to approve an agreement between the City and Walnut Ridge Cemetery for road construction, seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously. There being no further discussion to come before the Board, Councilperson Perkins made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 10:00 a.m., seconded by Engineer Miller and carried unanimously.
