MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA
SPECIAL MEETYNG-JANUARY 5, 2007
Mayor Waiz called the meeting to order at 1:40 p.m. and on call of the roll those members present were:
Councilperson Perkins and City Engineer Miller.
Also present were: Street Commissioner Ellis, Planning and Zoning Director Hicks, Fire Chief Miles,
Vehicle. Maintenance Director Drury, Assistant Fire Chief Decker, City Attorney Merkley and Deputy
Clerk Mayfield.
'CHANGE ORDER #1 FOR FIRE STATION N'0.2 AND N0.4 AND CITY SERVICES

COMPLEX-
Architect Hal Kovert recommended that the Board approve Change Order #1 for the Fire
Stations and City Services Complex. The Change Order will be in the amount of $677,395.00
changing the original contract amount of $9,399;000.00 to $8,721,605.00. Items that can be
done at a later date will be eliminated from the contract. The salt barn is still included in the
scope of work. Councilperson Perkins asked if sprinkler systems are included in the contract
for the three buildings. Mr. Kovert said they are not and they are not required by code. Mr.
Kovert said it would cost approximately $250,000.00 to sprinkle all three buildings.
Councilperson Perkins said he and other councilpersons would like to see other deductions
made in order to install sprinklers. Mayor Waiz said this would be discussed in the coming
week. After discussion, Mayor Waiz made the motion to approve Change Order #1,
seconded by City Engineer Miller with Councilperson Perkins opposing.

There being no further discussion to come before the Board the motion was made by Mayor Waiz to
adjourn at l :5~r.~n~con by Councilperson Perkins and carried unanimously.
