A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS
WITHIN THE CITY OF JEFFERSONVILLE, INDIANA,
AS "ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREAS"
WHEREAS, it has been requested that certain areas within the City of Jeffersonville, Indifina
(hereinafter "the City"), be designated as economic revitalization areas, pursuant to IC 6-1.1-12.1,
et. seq.; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Jeffersonville, Indiana (hereinafter "the
Council), recognizes the need to stimulate growth and to maintain a sound economy within the City;
and,
WHEREAS, certain areas of the City are undesirable for, and/or impossible of, normal
development and occupancy because of a lack of development, cessation of growth, deterioration
of improvements or character of occupancy, age, obsolescence, substandard buildings or other
Factors which have impaired values or prevented normal development of property or use of property;
and,
WHEREAS, the Council realizes that incentives to local development in these under-utilized
or distr6ssed areas would be in the best interest of the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Council further recognizes that it would be beneficial to designate certain
qualified areas within the City as economic revitalization areas for purposes of considering
deductions against the assessed value of property for real property' tax purposes; and,
WHEREAS, the Council is vested with the authority to designate certain areas of the City
to be economic revitalization areas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville, Indiana, that:
1) Pursuant to IC 6-1.1-12.1, et. seq., the North Port Business Park, as further described in
Exhibit A, Pages 1-3, is hereby declared and designated as an Economic Revitalization Area.
2) Pursuant to IC 6-1 .l-12.1-2.5(b), a copy of this Resolution shall be filed with the Clark
County Assessor's office upon its passage.
3) Pursuant ~i5 IC 6r 1~1 fl,2.1-2.5 (c), notice of the adoption and substance 6~ Mis resolution
shall be published in accordanc~ v,!th lC 5-3- I.
4) Pursuant to IC 6-1.1-12.1~2.5(c), the Council slmll hear ail remonstrances and
l'r~ :n interested persons at its regular meeting on March 3, 1997.

Being in Nos. 23 and 24 of the Illinois Grant, said
County and State, described thus:
Beginning at a stone, the southeast corner of No. 23 of
the Illinols Grant; thence South 51e30, West with the
Grant line dlvlding Nos. 23 and 24, 129.46 poles to a
stone; thence North 38o20, West, 129.09 poles to a stone;
thence North 51a30, East, 130.28 poles to a stake at end
of atone fence, said stake Is In the Grant line divlding

A part of Survey No. 23 of the Illinois Grant in Utica
Township of clark county, Indiana being a part of the
same 132.15 acre tract conveyed to Hugh M. Marble and
Mary M. Marble by an instrument recorded in Deed Record
171, page 77 and bounded as follows:
Beginning at a stone which marks the west corner of
Marble's tract, said stone also being a south corner of a
tract bonveyed to Frank }{. Gottbrath and Katherine C.
Gottbrath by an instrument recorded in Deed Record 168,
pages 461 and 462, the true place of Beginning, thence
the following courses of the boundary of Right-of-Way

facility, the permanent extinguishment of all rights and

limited access facility (to be known as The Clark
Maritime Centre Main Access Road and Port Terminal
Railroad), to and from the owner's abutting lands, along

Notice is hereby given that on the 18th day of February, 1997,
the Common Council of the city of Jeffersonville, adopted
Resolution No. 97-R-10 declaring a certain area of the City of
Jeffersonville as an Economic Revitalization Area,.said area being
commonly known as ~ Nor~n~-P~rt B~siTre~-s--Pa~K. A complete
description of the affe6te~ area and plat ma~ is available and can
be insptected during normal business hours at the County Assessor's
office and at the Jeffersonville Department of Redevelopment.
Notice is hereby given that on the 3rd day of March, 1997, at
7:00 p.m., in the Multi-Purpose Hearing Room on the Third Floor of
the city-County Building, Room 308, at 501 East Court Avenue,
Jeffersonville, Indiana, the common Council of the City of
Jeffersonville, Indiana, intend to conduct a public hearing on the
request for the purpose of creating an economic revitalization area
at the North Port Business Park. At that time the Council will be
available to receive and hear all remonstrances and objections from
interested persons.
This Jeffersonville Common Council meeting may be continued
from time to time as found necessary. The Jeffersonville Common
Council shall take final action at the conclution of this meeting
to determine whether the qualifications for a economic
revitalization area have been met and to confirm, modify and
confirm, or rescind the resolution.
